Beloved of God, sometimes your eyes are too close to see your own light clearly. God, in His wisdom, uses the people around you as mirrors to reflect your strengths. Proverbs 11:14 teaches that in the multitude of counselors, there is safety. When people consistently affirm a certain quality in you, pay attention. It may be God confirming what He has placed inside you.
Affirmation is not flattery. It’s a divine witness that aligns with purpose. If people are blessed when you teach, sing, organize, or encourage, it’s a signal. Their testimonies are echoes of the gift at work in you. Don’t ignore the consistent voice of confirmation that comes from trusted mentors, spiritual leaders, or those who genuinely walk with you.
However, be careful not to depend solely on people’s validation. Let affirmation confirm, not define, your identity. People see fruit, but only God knows the root. Balance external confirmation with internal conviction. When the two agree, that’s a strong indicator of divine placement.
The Holy Spirit often speaks through others to bring clarity and confidence. When you receive such affirmations, take them as gentle reminders that you’re walking the right path. Acknowledging your gift is not pride; it’s stewardship.
Self-Assessment:
– What qualities or abilities do others often affirm in me?
– How do I respond when people are blessed by what I do?
