God gave you your talent for a purpose, but your talent was never meant to become your identity. You may be gifted in music, preaching, teaching, writing, leadership, business, creativity, counselling, communication, technology, administration or another area, but the question is not simply whether you are talented. The greater question is what you are doing with what God has entrusted to you. Colossians 3:23–24 teaches you to work heartily as unto the Lord and not merely to impress people. Your talent becomes an offering when you use it with excellence, discipline and a heart that recognizes God as the source.
