Beloved of God, one of the clearest ways to recognize your talent is by identifying the problems that stir your heart. What moves you with compassion often points to where your gift is meant to function. Jesus said, “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good news to the poor” (Luke 4:18). His compassion directed His anointing. Likewise, your burden often reveals your assignment.
The things that frustrate you might not bother others because they are not called to that area. What burdens you could be a divine signal that you carry the grace to fix it. Moses felt pain seeing the oppression of his people; Nehemiah wept over broken walls. Their reactions led them into purpose.
Your talent is often the tool God gives you to bring a solution. When you start using your ability to serve the area of your burden, fulfillment follows. Talent becomes more meaningful when it meets a need. True satisfaction comes from knowing your gift is healing a pain in someone’s world.
Don’t run from your burden. Embrace it prayerfully. Let God guide you to the practical expressions of your compassion. Your purpose is not in what you hate but in what you’re moved to change.
Self-Assessment:
– What kind of problems deeply stir or move my heart?
– How can I use my abilities to bring solutions to those areas?
